Either you simply update your logo, or you revise its entire design. The first option is less categorical than the second. Redesigning a logo is a bit like a "complete makeover", whereas refreshing a logo will mainly consist of making small changes to existing elements, for example by slightly modifying the colors or by simplifying the whole design.
