In the past, the slide was the main image carrier, widely used, for example, in printing. Currently, the term slide is used to describe various materials containing specific information, which are then displayed on the screen with a special device (diascope, epidiascope) in the form of a slide show, as a form of presentation of a topic.

The term slide is also used by computer graphics . Currently, the slide is one of the main elements of presentation and animation, treated as a single film frame. A slide show consists of the image manipulation service presentation of successive individual slides, which can contain text, images, charts, diagrams, tables, audio, video,  The slide show is displayed on the selected image medium, automatically or manually (depending on the needs of the author of the show). Cliché-verre December 11, 2015 Dictionary Cliché-verre is a graphic technique that is basically a combination of graphics and photography.

This term from French literally means "glass plate". The technique was developed in the 1840s by William Fox Talbot and was most popular at the turn of the 1870s. The first experience of the inventor of this technique, based on the photogenic drawing method, consisted in obtaining a negative image from an object covering photosensitive paper. Many outstanding French (and not only) artists and painters used the cliché-verre technique. The cliché-verre technique can be divided into two distinct stages. The first is to cover the glass plate (or other transparent material) with an opaque preparation, collodium, and by spraying lead white ink or pigment. On such prepared material, a drawing is created with the use of a sharp tool, eg a needle, etc. The next step is to expose the plate together with photosensitive paper.
